Shakespeare Club member list and receipt [manuscript], 1850 April 30.

(1) consists of a list of elected officers and members and dues paid (50 cents each) for a Shakespeare Club formed on April 30, 1850. (2) is a receipt dated April 30, 1850 for seven dollars paid by Mr. Chippendale, Secretary of the Shakespeare Club. Signed by F. G. Tisdale, Treasurer. Based on the list of members, it is possible that the Club was based in New York City. Some of the names listed include: John Brougham, Ferdinand T.L. Boyle, John Sefton and James F. Otis.
